Just recieved the sad news from Beau Brenaman below. Pat Brenaman raced at Rambi Raceway, Hemingway Raceway, Columbia Speedway, and several other track in the Carolinas in the early 60's.
On Monday December 1st, 2014 my Grandfather Pat Brenaman passed away. He was a former track champion in what I'm guessing was Rambi raceway though he called it myrtle beach. I was wondering if anyone had any pictures, or news articles, anything really about him. The one picture on here is of his car except my family believes he's the one under the car working on it. So anything would help.
Last night (4/13/2014) the racing community lost a great friend. Former announcer, racing journalist, and photographer Marty Little lost his battle with cancer. Please keep his wife Janet Little, brother David Little. and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers. Marty was a great historian, and made several contribution to Carolina Race Place over the years. He will be missed… RIP Marty….
Just heard that Jack Choquette passed away today. No other details at this time.
When we had the Palm Beach Speedway reunion in late January Jack, his son John and his grandson Jeff were all in attendance. Immediately after Jack was inducted in the track's HoF as part of the first class, they left to take Jack back to the hospital. They never said why he'd been in the hospital but obviously it was serious was now, 30 days later, he's gone.
Not Sure of his exact age but I know he was in his 80s.
Ray Tilley the 1956 Coastal Speedway Hobby Track Champion in Myrtle Beach passed away at his home in Pine Grove, PA on August 19th, 2011. Tilley started driving a racecar in 1955 while stationed at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. Tilley was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 2005. ----- RIP Ray

I've added a new Pit (#7) called "Historic Race Results". I'll be adding mostly Modified, and Sportsman race results from the 50's, and 60's to this pit.
I just thought you would like to know that Darrell Ottaway of Holly Ridge, NC gained victory when he went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 24, 2009.
He talked of racing quite often and still had a great love of cars. I enjoyed seeing him drive his 1957 Thunderbird and 1947 Lincoln. He still owned several other old cars and trucks.
He will be greatly missed!
Please let others in the racing community know that he has won his final race.
